So last Saturday we enjoyed (despite the early hour) the 2012 Time Essential Air Wreck Rally.
Jed Dagger, third place, with record breaking excellence on target drops (lag monster nearly ate her on the course tho’)
Darkstone Aeon, second place, with cowboy hat intact
Sir Luc Brentano, first place, by a few minutes, a terrific comeback from last year’s fatality.
We thank our volunteer judges (hugs to you all, and sorry the crashes caused me to spend more time on rally math checking than saying a final ‘thanks’ for you time).
The rally challenge was NINE gates across the micronation of Caledon.
Apologies to those who saw a wrong time in the Steamlander calendar. I’m not sure how that got in there. Apologies also to those who showed up while the race was running and wanted to join in, I really had too many programs running and too many stats to check to do a proper welcome or addition of more pilots.
I’ve had THREE suggestions that I’m putting here so I remember them for future. First, folks want to try it again next year. Second, there was a request for Numbers above the gates, so you know if you are off course right away. Third, there were a couple of people who asked about flying lessons, or a walk-thru of ‘so you want to wreck your aerocraft’.
I can do that. Should be fun.
Look for an announcement in next few weeks; flying lessons AND instruction in the arcane task of dropping bits of your airship while keeping it flying.
Thanks again to all the Steamgrid for the fun!
…and speaking of fun, did you folks know what Honour McMillan just shared with us?
